5/25 Post-Game: Marlins making walk-off wins happen...for others

We lose when the White Sox score a run at the bottom of the 9th to make it 2-1. Our offense was terrible all night long.

We are now an amazing 13-36 this season...and 25 days into May we have only won 4 games this entire month.

Getting healthy... who goes?

Seems like LoMo is maybe 2 weeks away, Olivo probably the first to go. Kotchman & Mahoney are just about ready too, figure Mahoney to aaa and Kotchman to the bench? I'd like to see what Mahoney can do, but for that you may as well give him a bunch of at-bats in AAA rather than sitting on the bench up here.

Eovaldi is getting closer, I think I'd send Sanabia down & keep Koehler in the rotation until either Turner is ready or Alvarez is healthy. Then if Nolasco is traded that opens up another spot. Haven't heard about Slowey's injury yet - I guess they could call up Jacob Turner now actually. But eventually I guess you could pick between Slowey and Koehler in the rotation for the time being, & then we'd have Jose-Eovaldi-Turner-Alvarez-Slowey/Koehler. No lefty but whatever.

Once Solano returns hopefully he's the backup infielder, so then Nick Green goes down.

And then in another month you've probably got Stanton and Yelich to add... You gotta play all 3 of those guys so probably Ozuna-Yelich-Stanton across the outfield. Ozuna's arm is great to have in right, not sure if they'd look to flip he & Stanton or not, Giancarlo's arm is good too. Anyhow, that pushes Ruggiano to 4th OF, Diaz goes down. I imagine they just part ways with Austin Kearns, and probably keep Coghlan over JP?

Really exciting topic I know, it's been a long season already.

We Made The ESPN Front Page!

http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/9302895/houston-astros-miami-marlins-chasing-dubious-records

As you might have guessed, it's not a good thing.

But on the bright side, having Stanton, Yelich, and LoMo back in this lineup should make it at least league average if they can stay healthy and produce when it is their respective times to join the club.

Last time we made the playoffs was 2003. We are in obvious rebuilding mode, and are no where near reaching the playoffs. Worst of all, we tried to spend money and still managed to suck. Why in gods name do any of these people have a job, much less have a job with us.

also, as an aside, do the marlins even have a saebermetric department, or even a single analyst?

I'm here to take starts away from other catchers who have actual upside and/or need evaluation in a meaningless season. I have been identified as a player who embodies the Marlins way. Somehow I was signed to a 2-year deal (probably because I'm gritty and hard-nosed) and I suspect I am a candidate for an extension beyond 2014 so I can continue to mentor a young catcher and be horrendously bad and blah blah blah.

The Marlins won two games in a row, and score three runs against the Phillies today...but reality was bound to catch up with us. The only good news is that no one was at the ballpark to see this game (shots of the lower bowl showed plenty of seats disguised as fans), which means no one wasted their money to see the team crashing back to reality.

PS: The Astros are winning 3-0 against KC, which gives us a shot at winning the race for the bottom.
