The Royals claimed catcher Brett Hayes off of waivers from the Marlins, Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star reports (on Twitter).

I was hoping someone would get that.
Both my indifference to this news and what he does.

Gee, what a surprise. Looks like so far Buck is the back up catcher next year.

Nobody is exactly HAPPY to see him gone, but at the same time, logically speaking, it's okay.

It must be the John Buck factor.

I'd much rather have Buck than Hayes.
I'd rather have 6 Buck's before Hayes.

I remember his grand slam in June of 2011 against the Brewers.
We lost that game. :(

I agree. Nothing wrong here. And he didn't seem to have a problem helping with the developement of the kid. I think it could be a very well spent $6 mil if he is here for the full year. However, I think he starts the year here, but gets traded before the July deadline. I think Red will take the kid under his wing. And again, nothing wrong with that.

Guess I should have said back up catcher/teacher. The way I see it, one is making minimum wage and one is making $6 mil. I really don't care which is which.

6 bucks? I'd be happy with a quarter.
