Why not make a trade for him and put him at third? That would fill a huge hole with a solid bat and very solid defender.

I think we should just trade for Evan Longoria. That would solve the third base situation.
If we're looking for a buy low candidate, we should look at that Hanley Ramirez guy, He was pretty good a couple years ago and he's worth a gamble on returning to form.

Chase Headley will be my primary target. However, he'll be expensive in terms of quality players/prospects going to SD. Also I'll take a low-risk on Chone Figgins...Why not?

We trade so many people with San Diego, why not sayf*** it all and become Padres east? None of them are ever that good. Let's shop somewhere else.

Jason Bay, Eric Chavez and Jeremy Guthrie!
Balling on a budget!
Lol... I actually would be happy with signing Jason Bay to a minor league deal. Why the hell not?
I would love to trade for Headley, and god knows the Padres would probably deal him. But their return would have to include Yelich, maybe Fernandez, and that's a price he's probably worth... but not with our system this thin.

I wonder if we could flip Nolasco for Trevor Plouffe.
i actually thought about this exact trade. plouffe has power but hasnt hit for average or gotten on base.

I'd want no part of ploffe. Mark Reynolds does the same thing and wouldn't cost a SP to sign, just money.

If we trade Ricky Nolasco then they should target both Plouffe and Willingham
"The Twins might not receive much more than a No. 4 starter in exchange for Josh Willingham, an AL executive tells Phil Mackey of 1500 ESPN Twin Cities Radio. "There's no doubt Josh has a very good contract, but I really doubt a team would trade a viable starting pitcher for a guy with a strong bat but who is limited defensively," the executive said. "It's a lot easier to find a left-field or DH-type than to trade a good starting pitcher for one and then have to backfill the rotation spot." The 33-year-old Willingham is owed $14MM through 2014 and posted an .890 OPS last season, but another AL executive says Denard Span is a better trade chip for Minnesota.

If we could get Willingham back for Nolasco, that'd be amazing.
I'd pull the trigger on that in a heartbeat.

I don't want to trade nolasco unless we are ripping someone off. We need innings and Buehrle, JJ, nolasco can eat em up. Remember we are using turner and eovaldi for the entire season and they will have pitch limits. Someone is probably going to get hurt too. We don't exactly have sp depth.
