Just read Giancarlo's interview with Gammons. Depressing but completely understandable. Loria, the damn moron, is now on the clock. Stanton now destined to be the next Miggy, he'll be gone before the end of his second arbitration year. The Marlins as a franchise are now completely fu*ked.

^great. but this deserves it's thread.
the only player on this team worth a damn... scratch that... this once in a generation player that is on our team is pissed off at the owner and management
it's worth talking about. extensively.
the Marlins are f***ed as long as Loria owns the team.

The Marlins shouldn't offer a penny less.

Could be. Just not here. Did you miss this part?

"In other words, the "breaking point" Stanton sees approaching probably will become a part of the Marlins' business plan at the end of the 2013 season. The strapping outfielder will be eligible for arbitration next fall, and if he stays healthy and gets enough pitches to hit to continue the upward graph of what eventually could be a Hall of Fame career, he is probably going to be in line for enough money to push the Marlins to entertain multi-player offers for the 23-year-old star, especially given that Stanton is not likely to sign a long-term deal to stay in Miami.

For the time being, the Marlins are not planning to trade Stanton. They also have not been in contact with Stanton's representatives about a long-term deal."

They really need to take this team away from Loria. Can anyone think of a team in a worse situation? I mean, McCourt and the Wilpon family screwed things up, but not to the point where they traded away all of their players and the only recognizable one left seems like he doesn't even want to be on the team anymore..

I love Giancarlo for speaking his mind but now the idiots will have their excuse for not signing him.

They'll claim he has a bad attitude or isn't a team player or some sh*t.

It's not like anyone would buy that sh*t, they could say he was the second coming of Hanley for all I care. If they trade him I'll burn every piece of marlins gear I have and never show my face at that stadium again until Loria is forced out.

The media is behind Stanton 100% and considering how eloquently/accurate stated his statement is, that would reason would never fly. The marlins won't sign because well they don't want to sign him.

Actually, the media is behind anybody not in the Marlins FO. So is most of baseball.

"Olney says it would be a shock if the Marlins don't trade Giancarlo Stanton at some point in the next 20 months. He's not happy with the team and is unlikely to sign a long-term contract." - MLBTR

Seriously at some point you got to look at what's more important for the long term future of the team, going ahead and paying for some of those contracts when the team didn't work out or risks pissing off basically your entire Fanbase and the only star player your team has.

It's obvious what was more important to the team.

I really f***ing wish Jeffrey Loria would just fall over and die.

Yes, some of you might say "wow Dr B, that's kinda f***ed up to wish upon someone. This is just baseball ... blah blah blah..." but nah, f*** that. Genuinely a terrible person. Pisses enough people off man.

The world is a better place without Jeffrey Loria. Even if it's something as silly as baseball.

If Loria were to pass tomorrow, it wouldn't surprise me if Samson were to inherit the team. That would be infinitely worse. Samson is the person I want gone more than anyone else.

What boggles my mind is that they watch almost all home games and get seemingly genuinely upset and happy for the team.
