I was reading an article today about the new state laws that go into place starting tomorrow. Buried in the traffic laws is a provision authorizing the DMV to issue specialty drivers licenses featuring Florida's universities, professional sports teams and non-profits. Like the specialty license plates, half the additional $25 fee goes to the state and the other half goes to the organization.
I don't know when they'll actually be available or if the Marlins will be one of the teams represented, but I hadn't heard anything about this before today, so I wanted to give everyone a heads up, especially those of you who are due for a renewal this year.
