Did you check the majors? I don't have access to a PC at this time, but maybe he was up in someones bullpen the whole year.

I'm pretty sure mlbtraderumors said he didn't play at all in 2012, but don't think they stated a reason.

didn't play anywhere. Maybe he spent the year figuring out why his BB/9 was around 7 in 2011

He's apparently meeting with Hanley and Coghlan later this month so they can all discuss the same thing.

The reason is that he's not good anymore.

His slider used to be one of the best in baseball, but he's had injuries since then. I don't think he makes the team, honestly.

Apparently his slider generated the most misses per swing and was 2.54 runs above average in '09.

 

It was awful in 2011 though (-0.97), much like everything else he threw.

 

After a year of sitting out, I'm not expecting much.
