I'm surprised the Marlins waited that long to sign him.  Figgins is the archetypal Beinfest player.

Worth a shot. Perhaps he can provide a challenge to Solano for the 2B job.

yeah. dont really know what happened to him in seattle.

we are adding some real power bats here.

If you think about it, there was a point in time when signing Juan Pierre, Placido Polanco, Chone Figgins, and Jon Rauch would've been considered a great offseason...

I really don't like this move for the Fish.  Figgins has been awful for two years now and I think he's toast as a major league player.

It's a minor league deal.

Eh, I don't hate this. They can plug him in at 2B or SS when Solano and/or Hech inevitably poop the bed.

How can you not like a minor league deal?  He's either good or he's gone.

If he somehow beats out Solano we should probably just outright release Donovan, because Figgins was literally the worst MLB player at the plate for like three years running at one point. I can't imagine that he's going to provide anything, but I guess it's no risk.

It's Solano's job to lose and I doubt he loses it.

Figgins is on board for depth and will fill an Amezaga type role.

I'm not sold on Solano, but I do believe he'll be our Opening Day 2B.

So essentially we got some old guys that got on base in there time.
